News
The recent discovery of Salmonella in Anaheim chili pepper has led to concern over all products containing Anaheim chili. Sensient Dehydrated Flavors LLC has been concerned about Salmonella for many years, not just recently because of news events. Sensient has a program to control inventories of our Anaheim pepper feed stock used to produce various capsicum products. The microbiological safety of our products containing Anaheim chili pepper is never compromised.
Sensient Dehydrated Flavors LLC tests all the dehydrated Anaheim pepper as a raw material and finished product for Salmonella. Sensient does not release any material that has been tested positive for pathogens.
The recent recall of Anaheim peppers is for fresh, green peppers, not dehydrated peppers. These peppers were produced in the state of Georgia (USA) for the fresh market. Sensient Dehydrated Flavors has never sourced green Anaheim peppers from Georgia. Sensient does not sell any fresh peppers and as of July 9, 2009 has no new crop (2009) of dehydrated Anaheim pepper in inventory.
Products containing Anaheim peppers produced by Sensient Dehydrated Flavors LLC are tested for Salmonella. Products are released for sale only after they are found to be free from Salmonella.
Sensient Dehydrated Flavors LLC shares your concern for product safety. We continue to utilize robust quality and regulatory programs to ensure the safety and compliance of our raw materials and will continue to test our supply chain. Please be rest assured that we will take all actions necessary to support the continue quality and integrity of our products.
